Westport charts course for Revenue's licensing one-stop

OLYMPIA, Wash. – April 15, 2021 – The city of Westport is charting a new course for local businesses licensing by joining the Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing Service (BLS).

Westport is today the newest local partner of BLS, a free, one-stop solution used by more than 160 Washington cities for local license administration. More regional businesses will use BLS when Aberdeen, Montesano, and Cosmopolis join BLS this spring.

Grays Harbor-area businesses working in Ocean Shores, Hoquiam, and nearby cities already use the popular service for local and state registrations, such as liquor licenses, in the convenient portal linked to the state tax reporting system.

BLS’s streamlined service helps businesses apply for multiple licenses simultaneously, sync license expirations, and renew state and local licenses with a single annual payment. A list of all local partners is listed on the BLS city license endorsements page.
