Sales tax now applies to some services

Starting October 1: Some business services are now subject to retail sales tax, as required by state law, ESSB 5814. When you buy these services, vendors should add sales tax to your bill. Omak joins stampede of cities adding Revenue’s licensing solution

OLYMPIA, Wash. – July 21, 2020 – The city of Omak is joining the stampede of cities to join the state Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing Service (BLS).

With more than 800 businesses working in Omak, local commerce may get a boost as licensing is simplified. BLS is the combined state and local licensing solution offered as a free service for all participating Washington cities. Find out more information on the city license endorsements page.

Omak -- home to the famous Omak Stampede every August -- joins fellow BLS partners including nearby Bridgeport, Republic and more than 130 other Washington cities.
