Agriculture capital Yakima adds combined licensing solution

OLYMPIA, Wash. – April 2, 2020 – The city of Yakima is a longtime industrial center for vital Washington state agriculture output such as tree fruits, grains, wine and hops.

Yakima, with its nearly 100,000 residents, is boosting its local industry as the newest member of the Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing Service (BLS).

BLS works with most cities along Interstate 82 between Ellensburg and the Tri-Cities, making local licensing easier for businesses such as contractors who work in various locations throughout the year.

The popular service combines state and local licensing requirements in a streamlined solution. BLS supports about 30 state agency programs and is growing to assist more than 200 cities and towns across the state.

A list of partner cities is available on the city license endorsements page.
