Sales tax now applies to some services

Starting October 1: Some business services are now subject to retail sales tax, as required by state law, ESSB 5814. When you buy these services, vendors should add sales tax to your bill. Ridgefield joins Clark County neighbors in business licensing service

OLYMPIA, WASH. – Jan. 24, 2019 –Today, the Department of Revenue announced the city of Ridgefield is the newest business licensing service (BLS) partner.

Ridgefield businesses can now apply for hundreds of required state and local registrations in a single transaction. This one-stop-shop also allows businesses to renew those licenses easily through BLS each year.

Ridgefield joins the nearby cities of Vancouver, Battle Ground and Washougal. By 2021, nearly every city in Clark and Cowlitz counties will be active BLS partners.
