City of Camas joins Business Licensing Service

BLS completes record 33 partnerships in 2019

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Dec. 12, 2019 – The city of Camas is the newest city partner in the Business Licensing Service, a one-stop shop that allows businesses to register for and renew state and local licenses in one convenient process. Camas in Clark County is just east of Vancouver and home to nearly 2,500 businesses.

Camas is now connected to more than 100 BLS city partners, including dozens along the Columbia River.

Record year for local partnerships

Building for the future to better serve communities and businesses, BLS completed 33 local partnerships in 2019 – more than double any previous calendar year. Camas is the 115th local partner.

Next year, 38 cities are slated to connect to BLS, raising the number of municipal partners to more than 150 cities. By the end of 2020, more than two-thirds of Washington cities will issue and renew business licenses with the signature system that connects to hundreds of state license types and streamlines transactions for both city staff and business owners.

Cities that joined BLS in 2019 are: Airway Heights, Black Diamond, Burlington, Camas, Cashmere, Castle Rock, Cheney, Darrington, Edmonds, Federal Way, Friday Harbor, Grandview, Granger, Lynnwood, Medical Lake, Mercer Island, Moses Lake, Mountlake Terrace, Napavine, Normandy Park, Oakville, Orting, Othello, Quincy, Ridgefield, SeaTac, Snohomish, Springdale, Tenino, Toppenish, Tukwila, Wenatchee, and Woodway.

The city of Republic in North Central Washington is next to partner on Jan. 9, 2020.
