Sales tax now applies to some services

Starting October 1: Some business services are now subject to retail sales tax, as required by state law, ESSB 5814. When you buy these services, vendors should add sales tax to your bill. Cashmere joins neighbors in local combined licensing

OLYMPIA, WASH. – June 20, 2019 – The city of Cashmere in Chelan County has become the 98th city partner of the Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing Service. Cashmere is now part of the Evergreen State’s combined licensing one-stop for agency and city registrations.

Cashmere has more than 200 businesses that will benefit from BLS, the combined licensing solution that is a free service for all participating Washington cities. Find out more at bls.dor.wa.gov.
