When an emergency strikes

Revenue will work with businesses that cannot file or pay their taxes on time due to a natural disaster.

When the Governor declares a state of emergency or disaster, affected businesses that owe Washington taxes may qualify for the following assistance. Follow each link to learn more:

Businesses can request an extension or penalty waiver by sending a secure email in their My Account or by calling Revenue’s customer service staff at 1-800-647-7706 during regular work week hours.

Businesses in the impacted areas can also request:

  • Rescheduling of a planned audit
  • More time to file a business license or registration renewal
  • An extension of its expiring resellers permit

Property damage and tax relief

Washington property owners within a county or state-declared disaster area could be eligible for property tax relief. The county assessor’s office will make determinations, but the forms you need are available on Revenue’s website.
