OLYMPIA – July 1, 2014 – North Bend is the 60th city to partner with the state Business Licensing Service (BLS) to offer a streamlined licensing and renewal process to its local businesses.

The BLS is a clearinghouse for business licensing – offering nearly 400 licenses, registrations and endorsements from 11 state agencies and 60 cities. The BLS is part of the Washington State Department of Revenue.

North Bend businesses can now register or renew licenses online at business.wa.gov/BLS. The service brings all of the city’s business requirements into a “one-stop shop” and makes available most, if not all, the state registrations also needed to operate, such as liquor licenses.

Businesses currently licensed with the city will be integrated with the BLS database. They will receive an updated state business license that lists the city of North Bend after their renewal in December.

North Bend is located in the foothills of the Cascade Range just east of Seattle in the upper valley of the Snoqualmie River, with about 1,000 licensed businesses. It is the 15th King County city to join the BLS.

The BLS is one of the few systems in the country that allows a business to become licensed with cities at the same time it registers with state agencies.
